FAQs and Help

Thank you for your interest in Graceful Embroidery.
If you need help navigating my site or need guidance on ordering please read on. If you cannot find the answer to your query please email me.
As I live in the UK, which is between 4 and 8 hours in front of USA, it may take up to 12 hours for me to get back to you and longer at weekends!


"I am unable to access the Members area. How do I become a member?"
To get access into the Members area you need to join my Members group.
Click the Information button at the top of any page on the website and then click on Embroidery group.
All members receive a username and password to enter this area where they are able to pre order my designs before they are released.

"What should I do if while moving around the website I receive an error message?"
Go back one page by clicking the arrow at the top left of your screen and then refresh the page.
Sometimes your computer has remembered an old version of a page and needs to read the current version.
This can happen if I have recently updated a page.
If that fails I may not be aware of the problem so please email me.

"I have chosen a set of designs but they do not seem to be available in my format. Can you help me?"
Usually this means that it is not currently available in that format, because the machines that use that format do not have hoops to accomodate the designs in the set.
However in the instance of less common formats the designs may be available so do email me to check it out. I am always interested in what my customers need so do not hesitate to let me know your needs.

"I want to check out which sets in a collection are suitable for my machine and hoops. Can I be sent the PDF's of the designs stitch counts and dimensions?"
Yes just email me to request any PDF's you need. It may be helpful for you to mention your machine and the hoops you have for it.

"Are all your designs only available by purchasing with Paypal?"
No you can purchase them with Google Checkout but you need to email me so I can send you an invoice.

"Can I purchase your designs using another currency?"
I can send you a Google Checkout which is in Great Britain Pounds. Your rate of exchange will be the current rate when you make payment.

"Do you do gift vouchers?"
Not at present I am afraid.

"Can I purchase a CD of the designs that I require?"
Yes but I will have to charge extra for postage and packing. Please email me to find out the cost of this which varies from country to country.

"Can I send you a cheque for my designs and have them posted to me?"
No, cheques are too expensive to deal with as I live in the UK. At present my designs are only available over the internet.

"Is it possible to pre order your sets of designs before they are released at reduced prices?"
Yes it is if you are a member of my Embroidery group!

"Are your designs available anywhere else?"
Visit Secrets of Embroidery - most of my designs are available at this mall!

"What am I agreeing to when I purchase a license to use your designs?"
You are agreeing my terms and conditions.

"What should I do if I do not receive a download link for my purchased designs?"
Sometimes download links do not arrive as a few emails do get lost in cyberspace. Please be aware that your download link will be sent to the email address that you use for Paypal purchase.
If that is not the address you want the download link to be sent to, please leave instructions in the box "Instructions to merchant" when making your payment.
I can arrange for your download link to be sent you to again if necessary or send the designs as an email attachment.

"What is the best way to download and unzip your designs?"
Firstly make sure you have two folders called Graceful Embroidery designs and Graceful Embroidery zip files,
some where on your computer to store your licensed designs and your zip files.
I always click on the download button and then select "save" to my Graceful Embroidery zip files.
After it has finished downloading a box will appear and I click on "open" and my designs appear in a Winzip box.
Select them all and right click and extract to your Graceful Embroidery designs folder.
You now have a back copy of your licensed designs in zipped format which is always useful.

"How long does my download link last for and what should I do if it expires?"
Your link is available for 48 hours, and you can only make one attempt. This is to safe guard my designs and to prevent them being pirated.
Naturally I can send you another link if it expires or fails to work.

"Can I share your designs with others?"
NO All designs are copyrighted and remain the property of Graceful Embroidery.
When you purchase the designs you are purchasing a LICENSE for your own personal use, enabling them to be loaded on your computer and embroidery machine.
Please do not share them with others as this is an infringement of my terms and conditions which you agree to when making a purchase.

"How do I know which colours to use for a design as they look different on my machine than on your website?"
Colours vary on computers and are not always accurate.
Each design set comes with a PDF which gives the colours I recommend.
Unfortunately not all colours remain the same when designs are converted. This is the case for DST format.

"How will I receive my designs?"
You should receive a download link immediately after purchase.
Please contact me if it fails or you need me to send them by email attachment

"What do I do if my download link does not work or it expires?"
Just email me for another one.

"What will I receive in my zipped folder?"
Your zipped folder contains the designs and a PDF, which is a guide to the use of the designs that I have prepared for you. To get the best from my designs ALWAYS read the PDF as it contains essential information.
If your designs are available with Outline Alignment stitches (OAS) there will be 2 folders of designs, one with designs with OAS and one with those without them.

"What if I need my designs in more than one format?"
In some circumstances I will send you another format, but this is subject to my discretion.

"Are there any speciality threads such as metallic recommended or not recommended for a particular set of designs? "
If this is the case it will be mentioned on the webpage along with the designs.
However there is no reason why you should not try a design in a different thread and most collections have freebies that you experiment with.

"How can I know when you release new sets?"
I suggest you join my Embroidery group for up to the minute information. I also send out a newsletter but not after each set release.

"My computer died and I lost all my designs. Do I need to buy them again?"
No you only have to buy a licence once. Send me details of your intial purchase if possible, and the email address and name you used, and I will send the designs again IF I can find the orginal order.

"Can I use your designs on items for sale?"
Yes without limit providing you do not edit them in any way without my permission.

"If while sewing on one of your designs we run into a problem, can we contact you for help? "
Yes of course. Firstly I suggest that you join my Embroidery group where you can ask others who are familar with my designs and see what they are embroidering.
However I love to hear from my customers and am interested to know of any problems that you encounter so they can be solved.
